John Adams wrote in a letter to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776 about Independence Day that, “I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

As we approach a major milestone in our country's history, we want to second John Adams to celebrate this anniversary and have fun. However, please do not use guns or illuminations (aka fireworks) in the Winding Creek neighborhood to celebrate. Mr. Adams was talking about another neighborhood.

Winding Creek is a diverse community founded in 2006 with 67 single family homes, located in Monroe NC, near Wesley Chapel NC, just South of Charlotte NC.
